Interior Design Trends for 2022 are in full swing all over the home décor world. From patterns and bold colour choices to neutral, tonal living. These so-called “trends” are recurring each year and are becoming ageless accessories within any home. This leads us nicely into one of the first trends.  

Sustainability

Everyone is making more thoughtful decisions regarding home accessories and furniture. Purchasing more considered items and investing in timeless pieces from the start. Places like Etsy and Facebook marketplace are becoming increasingly popular for finding vintage bargains. As they say, “one man’s trash is another man’s treasure”. Bringing the outdoors in

We can’t not talk about green. A colour that has been circulating for the past few years and still has no signs of budging, which is why it continues to be an interior design trend for 2022. The term bringing the outdoors in surfaced from the start of the pandemic in 2020, when being able to enjoy the outdoors became a luxury. So, we incorporated more into our homes! It symbolizes life, new beginnings and creates a calm and peaceful space. We can safely say that green isn’t going anywhere!

 

Pattern Central

  Another interior design trend for 2022 is all things patterns. From stripes to checks to clashing bold colours, we will see a lot more maximalist trends coming to the forefront of design. If you just want to dip your toes into this trend you can incorporate it through home accessories such as cushions, throws, and prints. However, if this trend is right up your street, then investing in furniture, blinds and wallpaper is the way to go.

Active Brights

Confident patterns bring us into our next trend for 2022 which is all things bright colours. Pantone's colour of the year is a vibrant purple called “Very Peri” which is one is the bright colours emerging into trends this year. More shades include sunshine yellow, warm white, Dulux bright skies blue, deep red and as mentioned above, green.

 Curvy Living

Curvature furniture is huge for 2022, seeing brands like Made.com bringing it to the forefront of design. There is a psychology behind curved designs as our brains are drawn towards circular forms. It is connected to a sense of calm. After covid and spending so much time at home, making our homes feel as calm and as cosy as possible has become so important for day-to-day life.

Natural Interiors

Our last deep dive into Interior Design Trends for 2022. A neutral home is another trend that has not shifted in the past few years. It is all about muted tones, plenty of textures, and simplicity. The trend has expanded over time from mostly being about minimalism to now steering towards taking inspiration from coastal and bohemian décor also.
